Description

Experience the magic of Baddeck and the legacy of Alexander Graham Bell on this intimate, customizable 4-hour journey through the heart of Cape Breton. Skip the crowded big-bus tours and embrace the luxury of a private guide and seamless local transportation tailored completely to your pace.

Departing directly from Sydney, your adventure begins with a narrated drive down historic Charlotte Street. Look out your window to spot Sydney’s oldest standing landmarks, including the 1787 Cossit House, the historic Jost House, and the beautiful stone architecture of St. George’s Church—the oldest church in Cape Breton.

Leaving downtown, you will head west along the Trans-Canada Highway. Your first scenic stop is right next to the iconic Seal Island Bridge for a fantastic photo opportunity at water level. From there, the tour climbs up to the St. Ann’s Lookout, offering sweeping, panoramic views of the bay and the surrounding Highlands.

Arriving in the beautiful lakeside village of Baddeck, you will spend one full hour exploring the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site. Immerse yourself in the genius of Bell's inventions, from hydrofoils and airplanes to the telephone. Afterward, the time is yours to savor a lakeside lunch, stroll down the boardwalk, or wander through the village's quaint local boutiques and artisan shops.

On the return trip, your driver will take you up Kellys Mountain for a spectacular, high-altitude photo stop at the Seal Island Overlook. As you descend, you will pass through North Sydney to see the marine ferry terminal that marks the official gateway to Newfoundland and the eastern end of the Trans-Canada Highway. Finally, if time allows, your tour will include a drive through Membertou, offering a meaningful look into the vibrant land, history, and culture of the Mi'kmaq people.

To ensure the best experience, our shared tours run with a small-group maximum of 7 guests per vehicle (utilizing Sedans, SUVs, or Minivans). Please note that a minimum of 3 bookings is required for the tour to operate. If this requirement is not met, we will notify you regarding cancellation and a full refund.

Note: Slots are strictly limited to ensure a high-quality, comfortable experience. Book early to secure your journey back in time!
